About Safe Hands

We started Safe Hands in 2017, fitting interlinked smoke alarms in Scottish homes years before the government made them compulsory. When the law changed in February 2022, we didn't have to change how we worked. We just had a lot more people calling.

Since then we've completed over 8,000 installs and picked up more than 900 five star reviews along the way. We're proud of that, but it's not really the point. The point is that when you book us, someone from a real, local team turns up, fits your alarms properly, and leaves you with a certificate that actually means something.

Who we are

Safe Hands Home Improvements is based in Glasgow and works right across Scotland. We're not a call centre booking subcontractors you'll never meet. We're a small, family run business, and the person who answers your call is the same one who knows the team turning up at your door.

We got into this because too many homes in Scotland weren't compliant, and too many homeowners had no idea what "interlinked" even meant until they were staring down a legal deadline. We wanted to make it simple: one visit, one price, done properly, no upselling.

What we actually do

Every job gets the same standard, whether it's a one bed flat or a five bed house:

  • Wireless interlinked smoke alarms fitted to the legal standard
  • A ten-year alarm lifespan
  • Full testing before we leave, so you know every alarm talks to every other alarm
  • An official compliance certificate handed to you on the day
  • A five-year service guarantee. If anything stops working, we come back and fix it. No charge, no argument.

Most jobs take about thirty minutes. £230 for houses, £190 for flats and bungalows. No hidden extras.
